I am a Registered Massage Therapist, former massage college instructor, first responder/first aid instructor and volunteer firefighter in Victoria BC. I graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 2010 and have been working as a RMT since with a focus toward sports and sport injuries. As a massage therapy student I began volunteering with the Victoria Grizzlies Junior A hockey club and have been with the team ever since as a RMT and first responder.
Before going back to school for Massage Therapy I worked as an industrial first aid attendant for six years and began volunteering with the fire department in 2002. In 2010 I became certified as a first aid instructor and later as a first responder instructor. I have since taught RMT students and RMT colleague’s first aid and how to handle medical emergencies within their practice and consider it to be one of the best parts of my career.
As a massage college instructor I work as a supervisor in the student clinic and sometimes still can’t believe that I get to be part of future RMT’s learning process. I have been excited to meet new students and still learn something from them every time I’m at the school.
When not at work you can find me at the gym, at the ice rink, on the golf course or at the firehall.
